Recently, we were inspired by Simon Sinek, author of “Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action,” to define the “why” behind our role as a CPA firm:

The following is part of a series illustrating our “why.”

When our client, the owner of a $10 million agricultural manufacturing business, needed to increase his line of credit to pursue larger opportunities, he found the community bank he had worked with for more than 30 years was no longer able to meet his needs.

He had considered one of the big banks but was concerned about being a small fish in a really, really big pond. As he had done on several occasions throughout our three-year relationship, he turned to us for advice.

After carefully evaluating our client’s situation, we recommended a mid-sized regional bank. He requested a proposal from the bank, and was pleased with what he found: this new bank could expand his lending capacity for the same price as the big bank, and it would also provide him with the personal service he had grown accustomed to. He said he had no idea that a mid-sized bank had those kinds of capabilities! Needless to say, he signed on as a very happy customer.

Our client has been able to increase his line of credit from $1 million to $2 million, and is now poised to take advantage of bigger, better opportunities. He feels much more secure knowing he has the support he needs.
