Diversity & Inclusion

At Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP, we are committed to affording equal opportunity and affirmative action for employment and advancement for all. We do not discriminate and do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of any legally-recognized basis “protected class” including, but not limited to veteran status, uniform service member status, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation or marital preference, genetic information or any other protected class under federal, state, or local law.

We recognize the need for continuous improvement in diversity and inclusion initiatives. Through our annual Affirmative Action reporting, we identify areas where improvement is needed and take steps to address these areas. Over the past year, we provided training to all employees on implicit/unconscious bias and regularly provide anti-harassment training. In addition, we have developed an interview training video to help reduce bias in the interviewing process. We have increased our number of women at the highest leadership level over the past couple of years as well.

We strive to continue growth in our ability to attract and retain women and people of color to work towards greater equity and diversity.

AICPA PCPS George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Scholarship & Internship Program

We are honored and excited to be one of 10 US firms co-sponsoring the AICPA PCPS George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Scholarship & Internship Program in 2022. As a co-sponsor, we will host an ethnic minority accounting student to work alongside our CPAs and advisors during the 2022 internship season.

Diversity & Inclusion Certification

In 2020, Abdo, Eick & Meyers committed to diversity and inclusion education and training and required all employees to attend a series of monthly sessions provided by the Greater Mankato Diversity Council. This year, the firm will be developing and providing a video training resource on the topic of empathy. We believe that when we understand each other better, we can grow together.
